Other Hints for Keyword Searching
  1. Truncation must be specified in a keyword search. Use a question mark (?) for truncation.
  2. Omit accent marks and all other punctuation (except the truncation indicator if needed).
  3. A keyword search does not search full-text. A keyword search searches the fields of bibliographic records stored in a database. These fields may include:
    • title
    • author
    • subject
    • notes (publication, distribution, series, edition, abstract, etc.)
  4. If your search retrieves a broad set of results, try adding another term in your search.
